EXECUTIVE MAYOR'S PROFILE
ABOUTPeter Teixeira joined the Democratic Alliance in 2014. During his time as a ward councillor, he served in three mayoral committee (MMC) posts and became the DA's constituency leader in Midvaal.
He started his schooling at Meyerton Primary School in Meyerton, thereafter he moved to Riverside School. He later went to varsity where he graduated in sport management science.
In September 2021 Teixeira was elected as the mayoral candidate for DA and won the local government elections with an increased majority of 63%. He was sworn in as the mayor of Midvaal Local Municipality on 15 November 2021.

As an MMC for engineering, Teixeira made a meaningful contribution in driving Midvaal’s growth and success through infrastructural development and prioritising the marginalised communities.
