The Draft Urban Design Framework for the Government Precinct in the area ofThe De DeurEstates Limited is advertised for public comment in terms of the Section 12(2) of the Midvaal Spatial Planning and Land Use Management By-law, 2017 and Chapter 4 of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 prior to approval for a period of 30-days from the 1stSeptember 2023.

PUBLIC NOTICE : Planned Water Interruption – 19 August 2023 Ward 5 and 7

Dear Midvaal Residents,

Notice is hereby given of a planned water interruption by Rand Water for the replacement of the bulk water meter, supplying Ward 5 and 7.

The areas to be affected include:

  • Ohenimuri
  • Golfview
  • Walkerville
  • Walkerville Manor
  • Hartzenbergfontein
  • Blignaustraus

The interruption is scheduled for 19 August 2023. The Downtime is expected to be 3 hours from 09H00 to 12h00.

A water tanker will be dispatched at the corner of Main Road and 4th Street (Spar Walkerville).

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR MEMBERS OF THE MIDVAAL MUNICIPAL PLANNING TRIBUNAL

Midvaal Local Municipality hereby invites nominations for persons to be appointed as members of the Midvaal Local Municipal Planning Tribunal to consider land development and land use applications in terms of Section 36(1) of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act 16 of 2013).

Attributes: Nominees must be persons with leadership qualities and must have knowledge and experience in/ of spatial planning, land use management, land development and law.

Field: Town/Urban and Regional Planning.

Terms of office: the terms of office of the members of the Midvaal Local Municipal Planning Tribunal will be three (3) years calculated from the date of appointment of such member by the Municipal Council.

Nomination Particulars: Each nomination must be in writing and not by pencil or free hand and must contain the following details:
a. The full names and address of the nominator, who must be a natural persons and a person may nominate himself or herself or organisation nominate the candidate.
b. The name, address and identity numbers of the nominee.
c. Motivation by the nominator for the appointment of the nominee to the Midvaal Local Municipality Municipal Planning Tribunal (not exceeding one page).
d. A curriculum vitae of the nominee which must include; full names, identify number, address, telephone, mobile numbers, email address and at least two names and contactable references.
The curriculum vitae must indicate years of experience in local government.
e. Certified copies of NQF Level 7 Town/Urban and Regional Planning qualifications or higher.
f. Proof of valid Registration certificates as a Professional Planner with SACPLAN in terms of the Planning Profession Act, Act 36 of 2002.
g. Letter of acceptance of the nomination from the nominee (see Schedule 2 of the regulations in terms of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 16 of 2013).

Acceptance of the appointment will be subject to a Service Level Agreement.

Disqualification: Interested persons are encouraged to read Section 38 of Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act 16 of 2013), and failure to comply with the section and the above requirements may result in the disqualification of the nomination.

Remunerations: The successful candidate will be remunerated in accordance with Treasury Regulations that regulate the remuneration of commissions and committees of inquiry, and audit committees and will be re-reimbursed for expenses incurred for the attendance for the Municipal Planning Tribunal.

Non-appointment of members: The Midvaal Local Municipality retains the right not to appoint any nominee.
