MEDIA STATEMENT: DUMPING OF HOUSEHOLD WASTE AT TRANSFER STATIONS

Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) is aware that Emfuleni Local Municipality is facing challenges in collecting waste. As a result of this, we have noticed an influx of people making use of MLM transfer stations.

The Galloway, Blackwood and Kliprivier transfer stations only allow for the dumping of garden waste. Household refuse should be taken to the landfill site located in Henley on Klip.

MLM encourages the use of the correct location when discarding household waste. We discourage illegal dumping as it is harmful to the environment and the beauty of the area.
