In our continuous efforts to improve the services offered to the public,  Midvaal Local Municipality, as an employer of choice, is excited to announce the migration to a new e-recruit platform. This transition should be seamless, but applicants are advised of the change that is taking place.

NOTICE – FAKE JOB LISTINGS TO SOLICIT MONEY

Midvaal Local Municipality is aware of criminals using fake job listings to solicit money from potential applicants, by fraudulently placing vacancy adverts on various platforms and requesting payment to secure a job at the municipality.

To maintain the integrity of our recruitment process and to eliminate the exploitation of potential applicants, all job seekers applying for vacancies advertised by Midvaal Local Municipality, are again reminded that the municipality will under NO circumstance charge any recruitment fee when registering and applying for any of the advertised vacancies.

Any vacancy listing that is not on the official website of the municipality is considered fraudulent. Job Seekers that are aware of any unofficial listings, have been requested to pay or have paid any fee when applying for a vacancy from Midvaal Local Municipality are urged to please report such activities to our Anti-Fraud and Corruption Hotline 0860 268 624.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS: THREATS AND INTIMIDATION

 It has come to the attention of MIDVAAL LOCAL MUNICIPALITY that there are certain unscrupulous companies and individuals who are attempting to intimidate, threaten and incite acts of violence against service providers rendering services for the municipality. 

Kindly note that Midvaal Local Municipality does not condone or stand for any acts of violence, threats and/or intimidation. Service providers are advised not to respond maliciously but rather encouraged to note that they are well within their right to take appropriate action and approach law enforcement (SAPS) to open a case so the law can take recourse. 

Furthermore, any incident of corruption, fraud, theft and misuse of municipal resources pertaining to Midvaal Local Municipality can be reported to the fraud hotline on 0860-268-624. 

In compliance to the Protected Disclosures Act. Any person who reports suspected fraud and/or corruption may remain anonymous should he/she so desire.

Midvaal Draft LED strategy

The Midvaal Local Municipality invites all stakeholders, interested and affected parties to submit comments on the Midvaal Draft LED strategy as approved by Council on the 25 August 2022. MIDVAAL LOCAL MUNICIPALITY SECTION 116 ADVERTISEMENT

 PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE OF INTENT: SECTION 116 (3) (a) (b) (i) & (ii) PROCESS TO AMEND THE PERIODS OF VARIOUS CONTRACTS FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES FOR MIDVAAL LOCAL MUNICIPALITY DUE TO THE NATIONAL TREASURY DIRECTIVE DATED 25 FEBRUARY 2022 

Notice is hereby given in terms of Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003) Section 116 (3) (a) (b) (i) & (ii) read with Section 21 A of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act No. 32 of 2000) that the municipality has the intention, to extend the periods of various contracts as set out below from 1 October 2022 until 31 March 2023. (Refer to Table 1).

 That the Section 116 (3) process of the MFMA and SCM Regulations will be followed to amend the scope for contract 8/2/3/76 (2021-2024): Supply of fuel (petrol and diesel) to Midvaal Local Municipality during emergencies and after hours, on an as and when required basis from date of award to 30 June 2024 to accommodate expenditure beyond R10 million but not exceeding R50 million throughout the implementation of the contract (Refer to Table 2).

REASONS FOR THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS WERE TABLED AND APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL AT ITS MEETING HELD ON 31 AUGUST 2022

The rendering services as set out below were sourced following the Municipal Financial Management Act and SCM Regulations. The contracts will end on 30 September 2022.
