MIDVAAL 100 Cycle Challenge supports two local causes

The Midvaal 100 Cycle Challenge once again drew crowds from across Gauteng on Sunday, 15 October 2017, to participate in the 10, 40 and 100km races.  Despite windy conditions, cyclists took to the road from the Midvaal Raceway, and completed yet another successful event.  Prizes were awarded for the Elite, Vets, Juniors, Ladies and Tandems categories, and goodie bags and medals were given to all cyclists.  The 100km Elite Men race was won by Clint Hendricks and the 100km Elite Ladies was won by Desiree Lester. Ntsane Ntabanyane won the the 40km Men Open and the 40km Ladies Open was won by Chantelle Labuschagne.

Proceeds from the race were donated to Stand with Stan and CANSA Vaal.  Stand with Stan is an organisation founded by Stan Andrews, a professional para-athlete who hails from Meyerton and assists those in need with prosthetic limbs.  CANSA is chosen as a recipient annually, since the race takes place in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
