The Midvaal Fire Team is proud to introduce two new vehicles into their firefighting fleet. A 31 year old firetruck which was not in working condition had been lying at the municipality’s workshop, until it was decided to refurbish this vehicle.
The replacement cost of a firetruck is in the region of R5 - 7million, but this old beauty of an engine was restored for R1,4 million, saving the municipality a huge amount of money.
The newly repaired truck will assist with attending to fires of the eastern side of Midvaal and the Vaal Marina area.
A new vehicle for fighting veld fires has also been added to the fleet to assist in the Vaal Marina. It is hoped that the two new vehicles will make Midvaal a safer place for all.
